‘Tis the Season to be Jolly …
We don’t often blow our own trumpet but as it is Christmas, we just wanted to let off a little steam and enjoy telling you this –
LIG are proud that a project of ours, with Urban Outfitters, won –
The Supply Chain Warehouse Excellence award in 2021.
We implemented and directly managed the fit, the test, the go live and the ramp up for a new Distribution Centre that incorporated a high level of automation.
The project was delivered on time and within budget despite being in the middle of the Covid pandemic.
Urban Outfitters, Inc. is a multinational lifestyle retail corporation headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
It operates in the United States, Sweden, United Kingdom, Spain, Denmark, France, Germany, Portugal, Ireland, Belgium, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and the United Arab Emirates.
This is what we can do for you in 2023
Even though the percentage of shopping on-line has fallen back from it’s Covid induced peak of 37.8% it is still a good 5 points higher than before Covid.
Consequently, the need for continued improvement in the logistics industry is still important.
This is where the Logistics Improvement Group (LiG) comes in. LiG, a merger of 3 Logistics based consultancies, utilises the vast experience of the 3 Directors to bring about successful conclusions to logistics projects.
Distribution Centre Automation
With warehouse space at a premium, automation can mean using more of the available space more efficiently, often by significantly extending vertically and by extending the current working hours.
LiG are particularly successful at automating Distribution Centres and have an enviable track record with companies like ASOS, Debenhams, and JD Sports, and Kuehne+Nagel.
Business Transformation
LiG is very familiar with business transformation and so can save you a lot of time.
Changes will probably involve all the personnel, processes and technology of the establishment.
Consequently, and steady and experienced “pair of hands” is a God send.
Project management
The projects need to be managed independently, allowing the company to continue working as normal.
This independent management process is agreed by the Board at every stage.
LiG ensures that every milestone is agreed and reached and the whole project brought in on time and within budget.
In Conclusion
The retail sector continues to move towards greater “on-line” shopping and so the logistics industry has to make haste and improve at a faster rate to stay ahead of the demand for ever faster delivery.
Given that background the need for experience and effective knowledge is vitally important to ensure that projects are all brought to satisfactory conclusion on time and within budget.
