The current situation
The world of Logistics has had so many things thrown at it over the last 2 years.
First, we had Covid causing the loss of foreign workers and the boom in on-line sales.
And now, we have the fall-out from the invasion of Ukraine by Russia:
- Fuel prices, a vital element of the logistics sector, climbing ever upward.
- Transcontinental routes disrupted.
- Inflation on the increase and forecast to reach double figures.
- Strikes on the railways and airlines.
- Continuing staff shortages.
- Uncertainty about the economy
Against this background it is very difficult to see which is the right way forward.
Help at hand
The Logistics Improvement Group (LiG) directors have a combined logistics experience of over 85 years.
They can advise, plan, and implement your Business Transformation. Just look at these examples:
Business Transformation
This is the term for major changes to your business, be it personnel, technology, or processes.
LiG sit down with companies and discuss what they are trying to achieve and then form a strategy going forward.
The first step is to gather sufficient data so that a financial analysis and report can be prepared for presentation to the Board.
This analysis will map out the processes that need to be put in place to bring about the business transformation that the Board is looking to achieve.
Any transformation programme needs to be managed within a strict governance process which has been agreed and approved by the Board at the outset.
Within the governance process there will be milestones, set and agreed at the outset with every team involved.
Then, a realistic “go live” date can be set, which will include well planned training and preparation, as well as a clear criterion for the decision “Go/No Go”.
This means that contingency plans and budgets must also be prepared in case of the “No Go” decision.
LiG can call on their decades of experience so that all of these complexities can be managed smoothly, saving the client from having to plough through all of the detail, thereby saving money.
What if a Transformation has been started and has faltered?
LiG can mobilise a team who will identify the root causes of the problem and devise a plan to turn the situation around.
Because of the wide experience spectrum within LiG, the appropriate skills will be applied to rectify and stabilise the situation.
What to do now.
